http://www.gamescheatdirectory.com/gamecheating/
This article is by someone who is talking about how multiplayer game cheaters will hurt and disrupt online players, i agree with what he is talking about as it is basically just describing what i have said previously only that its in greater detail that what i have.
http://tkc-community.net/Main/modules.php?name=TKFAQ
This article is a wonderful article that i have found, and it explain in details what do cheaters what and why do they cheat.
Summarize your conclusions and opinions regarding your topic, including (but not limited to): What are the issues? Why should you care about it as a game developer? What are the social/economical/moral/etc. implications? What do you recommend in order to address these issues?

Well, from what the results have yield, we hereby declare that cheating itself, is GOOD, of course, it may differ in different perspective but cheating as a WHOLE is good, why do i say so? Well, from the results it should be clear.

However, it must be noted that there are several issues with cheating that we cannot overlook, for a game to have fun and relax with friends, cheating is considered a good way for a new look for the game, however, for online games, especially those that have a value in the market and where real money is involved, cheating is definately a way where people can break the law to earn money, for example, selling a high level character in World Of Warcraft when the player levelled the character by hacking, this will be unfair to the character buying the game.

As a game developer, i will consider the effects of cheating on my game, and decided if its good or not, for single player games, normally cheats are allowed, and even encouraged to provide a different feel of the game, this can be seen from cheats that have weird names like for example, In worms 2, the level codes are named 1st level.Onceupona and the next lvl is timetherewas. This cheats are definately done by the programmers themselves and therefore, the game have no qualms of cheaters. Unless i'm making a multiplayer game , i should not be too concerned with the cheaters, of course, it might affect the gameplay and make the game boring for the players, but i feel that, if the players need to resort to cheats, then the game is boring itself anyway.

Social and moral aspects i feel that it will seriously not affect much. some people comment that when the players cheat in their game, they might feel that cheating is fun and that they will cheat in real life. Firstly , this is absurd, its not realistic to follow what we have learned in games and apply in real life, this is where all the critics will start blaming violent games. Its very common, to put blame in games but i feel that cheating in a game with your friends will not affect your character . Econmically, cheating is not good for online multiplayer games as it will lower a player's interest in the game due to the fact that everybody is stronger than him.

I recommend that cheating is good, however, as is the same with everything, we must have a limit to what cheats can do, especially if it ruins the game. for online games, if everyone cheats , then there is no fun as its a game to make friends. In multiplayer games between friends, at least when u cheat, the consent from all players can be confirmed whereas in online, the opposite party might not like it.
Topic chosen, survey results and interpretation (5%)

We have chosen the topic Cheats in Games for the latest project that we have done. The reason we chose that topic is because, we are pro cheaters in games and have always involved ourselves and delighted outselves with cheating in whatever games we play.

Here's our survey question and the answers

1. Do you play games?
And over 90% states that they play games, which is a good thing for if they don't play games.. then how can they be cheating?

2. Have you ever cheated in a game before?
And over 70% of the people states that yes! they have cheated in a game before. Which shows that majority of the gamers out there will cheat if given an oppotunity to do so.

3. Have you ever thought of cheating in a game?
And almost 100% of the people states that yup, the thought of cheating actually crosses their mind. Which shows that every gamer will want to cheat if given a chance to, and if they really want it. To think of cheating in a games means that people will prefer if a game has cheats

4. Do you have any friends who have cheated or asked you to cheat before?
And we have about 70% of the people states yes, which shows that people have a high chance to cheating due to influences by their friends who currently are playing the same game. The higher tha influences the higher the chances of them cheating

5. If any of the above questions answers a YES, please state what game did you cheat on
Most people skipped this question, which gives us a hint that either they have not cheated on a game before, their lazy people meaning they are lazy to find cheats codes too OR that they have cheated in too many games until they cannot remember any at all, those that have answered states out games which are more multiplayer and gets to play with other people which shows that people cheat to to improve the odds of winning in a competition.

6. Do you like people who cheat in games?
Roughly 65% of the people states that they DON'T like cheaters which is controversal as almost 100% states that they have cheated themselves, so i conclude that people don't like cheaters due to the fact that the cheaters , due to their cheating in the game, will become stronger and better than the non cheaters and thus they dislike cheaters.

7. Do you think that cheaters should not play games?
Well, surprise surprise, 65% says that they don't think cheaters cannot play games, so therefore, its either my question has too many negatives until he or she got confuse with my questions or , he or she don't mind cheaters playing games due to the fact that they themselves are cheaters too!.

8. If you play an online game and your friend is a cheater, will you still play with him?
Wow, 100% states that they are willing to play with cheaters yet previously they state that they don't like cheaters ?? How can this be? I can hereby therefore conclude that its not that they don't like cheaters, but they don't like cheaters to get better than them, however, if the cheaters themselves are with the player, the player will not mind, afterall, who will truely mind if u have someone helping you out.

9. If u are a game maker, would you like people to cheat on your games?
70% of the people states that they don't want cheaters to be playing their games if they are game developers, which makes common sense because if people cheats in your games, ur game is not fun anymore and no one wants to buy, the other half states that they don't mind as , most cheats are actually done by the game programmers themselves and they are not game developers and therefore doesn't know how a game developer thinks..

Thats all, i found the survey to yeild interesting results

5. Do a SWOT analysis for your game with respect to the local and global games market (why you think it will sell), thus the reasons for its targeted audience and related marketing plans.
Strengths

Simple game yet addictive
Teaches basic rythem
Multiplayer makes it fun
Competitive environment

Weakness

It gets monotonous after awhile if songs are not updated with new ones.
Cheats and hacks are programmable
Single player is boring
People might be bored with that genre of games

Opportunities:

Get songs from major and hot stars to attract fans of that star
Songs can be taken from different country to attract a bigger crowd
Internet is avaliable to everyone now
People busy at work likes simple games

Threats

Hackers to cheat on games
Too many types of songs to load
People who hate one kind of song will not want to play
Some games might have this feature for example, Audition online

4. Describe the business model of your game: How do you plan to profit from it?

Our game will be focused on being simple yet challenging and fun to play with. And it can also be played in multiplayer and tries to make use of as little key functions. Main importances is we are to test the reaction and musical rythem of an individual rather than his ability to use a controller.

Features

A simple game consisting of only 6 buttons where 4 is for movement

Competitive arena where players compete with each other to show who is better

Tests their musical talent and player's ability to listen carefully

Profits

It will be inexpensive to play, pay a cheap amount of money to play once, as it is cheap, more people will play and the end product is more.

It will be in second life, where many people goes to socialise with each other , when friends come together to play a game, they tend to play it more when they get addicted

2. Assume the role of game developers in Second Life. Your current product is the 3D virtual world with the basic editing tools and features (ability to buy land and scripted objects, walk around with a 3D avatar and chat with others).Use SCAMPERR or another brainstorming tool for your existing product in order to create a new one. The new product is an in-world game that deals with the industry trend that you picked in point 1.Example: A (Adapt) – In our RPG we can have cellphones for players to exchange info, which is something we are adapting from the real world and we know today’s teenagers adore.

Substitute controllers with materials that detect movement and can control input

Combine gaming with the workings of machines

Adapt daily lifestyles with the new controller, like a multi purpose controller for the TV and aircon so on so forth

Magnify the importance of the controller, by saving time and which we all knows time is money

Modify controller to a glove which detects input

Put to another use with the controller , it can be used to hold hot stuff and measure room temperatures

Eliminate wires that are connected to the glove, make it wireless

Rearrange the area with special glasses to provide 3d feel and game

Reverse the gloves, instead of the gloves having the sensor.. make the whole room to sense so that every acute actions can be noticed

Therefore we came to the conclusion that in order to make the perfect controller, is to strap a thin sensor over a persons hand and have a device within the room to sense the change and will make gameplay easier for the player. As time goes by, people are getting lazier and they want to be able to play a game even much more simpler than moving their fingers, what if with a flick of one's wrist, he can make his character perform any attacks and it enables delicate control over the game.
Digital Entertainment and Society Assignment 2
1. Pick a current (i.e. from this year) significant trend on the video game industry. You can take facts to guesstimate the trend, or you can refer to an existing forecast study.

From recent console trends , Looking at previous games console and current game consoles, we can guess the trends that modern games are going towards now, the main key importance is that game consoles tend to have more and more buttons.

However, as more buttons grow, games get more complex and therefore the games being produce for such consoles are more hardcore gamer orientated, one example as stated in the source will be for example, A boy playing a realistic soccer game on his PS3, then his dad comes along, stunned at the graphics and realism, wants to try, boy hands over controller, dad gets fustrated over buttons usage, thus, dad gives up, lazy to think abt it anymore.
And that is the reason why recently NINTENDO is releasing consoles that are user friendly and much more easier to use. Which is the current hot topic now by millions of people, gamers and non gamers alike .

Another recent trend now is that of MMORPGs.

With many big hits like World of Warcraft with over 2 million players out there, its pretty obvious that many humans are bored of fighting with AI and they all want to interact with human players out there for challengers and more.

Of course by multiplayer and MMORPGs, it does not mean one will require a computer with powerful graphics card and wonderful processor.

Recently, more and more multiplayer games are being developed for simple consoles and even mobile phones, which complies to the above statement that simple and casual games are in the heat.

Examples are the DS by NINTENDO and PSP that are handheld games which has the function for people to play with each other.

1. What is the Central Question of the script and how does the Opening Scene illustrate it?

Central Question of the script is that if the angel will gain back her freedom. And the opening scene does not say the main point of the story as in the starting area just shows their world. The question is brought in later when we see the angel being held in a dark room lying face down showing that she is captive of the fanatics, and when she is taken away by the police we see that the police is also treating her like an item. Then the two main characters trying to save her. and so the question here is will they save her and give her her freedom.

2. What is the Key Theme of the movie (i.e. what does the filmmaker want to tellyou through the show?)

The key theme of the show is that there are humans with a heart out there and that this humans can betray their organization to do the right thing. A minor theme in the story is on the impact humans have on the environment, as u get to see that the ground area of the earth is actually full of radioactive substances as there are many signs like "Beware Of Sunlight" and "Survival Not Guaranteed" and u see nuclear powerhouses with dangers signs around.

3. Break down the script into 3 Acts, and identify the respective turning points(which usually ask the Central Question again).

The first act is showing a fight going on between the police and some religious fanatics, then the police wins and then we see a little girl with wings then the police brings her back ending the first Act, with the question being asked now, Is the girl free? where is she being taken to.

The second act then lets us see the 2 protaganist being stress over something, then it shifts to them wearing radioactive suits and then attacking their own people, then finally in a room, it shows the girl being captive and not free, thus the two guys breaak her out of the room. Question asked her, Will they be able to save her, Will the girl be free?

The third act then shows the protaganist's escape and together and its monotonous, then the scene shows that they are not being chased and the girl trying to fly. Lastly, the question is answer when we see the girl flying in the sky.

4. Who are the characters and how do the subplots (involving the characters)expand the Theme and builds up the Climax within the Structure of the script.

There are only three main character in this short amv.
The 2 police man is Chage and Aska .
The two men are meant to look like the singers Chage and Aska themselves. One of the men (wearing a naval cap) is depicted as brave and caring, while the other (wearing a helmet and dark goggles; apparently Chage as implied by the text on his coffee mug) is depicted as being somewhat goofy, but warm-hearted.

The third character is the angel.
We see her as a weak and frail being who cannot do anything to help herself.

There is not much subplot, but the climax is slowly shown when u see the characters thinking and inventing stuff which ultimately shows us the weapon being use, also, through out the entire amv one can see that the protaganist are kind hearted and cared for the angel like feeding her water, and one can see the regret of them when they hand the angel over to the police and the climax builds up when they assaulted the factory.

As this is an MTV, the climax is also built when the song goes into the chorus depicting fight scenes and rescues scenes and the peaceful part of the song when they rescued her

5. Were there any script flaws and how will you address them? Or how wouldyou improve the film if you were to do a re-make?

Well.. there was no speech and the entire movie was presented by just actions and the theme song. They is very well done as one can easily understand the story, If we were to remake, we will stop reusing scenes.

6. Explain how the filmmakers employ different techniques in visual effects to enhance the story-telling of the film.

The entire amv is handdrawn and the flimmaker uses simple drawing to convey the story telling, Dark shadings indicate bad areas of the show like the fanatics and the factory, while a lighter color with normal greenary shows that they are sucessful and is peaceful kind of theme
Difference between machinima and normal movies.

Machinima is getting more and more popular now that computer games are getting more and more common and computers are getting more powerful. Machinima means machine cinema and that involves making use of in game play to mimic or create a movie out

The similarities between machinima and normal cinema is that they both wanna convey a simply story and wants to appeal to the audience.

Differences between them is that normal movies require a huge sum of money to make and normally stars famous actors and actress, while machinima uses game play characters and cheap computing power. Movies have many genre but machinima tends to be on the humor side of life, like mimicking a famous movie.

This is a blog about second life done by Melvin and Wingyi
Firstly, this is the 2 of us.. Melmint Kuroe and Hane Kuroe.. here i am, being held at sword point by hane.

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting

you can truely see how wonderful our partnership is from here.
So on to the first mission!
We are asked to first introduce ourselves , which i have just done!, next on, to proceed to olive's upside down room and sit on a celling fan.. weird request isn't it? and this are the results!

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting

and its kinda hard to take a photo with the screen swirling around but we did anyway, so on to the next goal! which is togive our avatar a mohawk!Personally, i find mohawks not pretty but still, no harm trying thus and here we are

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting

and what a surprise! it actually looked good! still we reverted back to our longer cooler hairstyle after the photo~~
next up! to get a dragon pet in New Citizens Plaza... for one... its very laggy there with the number of people, but we got it anyway, and here it is, our very own pet dragon!

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting

kind of matches the color right??
so next, we are suppose to visit mushroom world , and what a surprise we had when we got there.. its a copy of Mario!! completed with coin boxes and enemies.. what a well done model!

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting

just to mention while sitting i fell into the pipe! and hit my head on one of the boxes causing a sound to be emitted and the box destroyed.. just like in the actual Mario!!
next is
Playing Slingo!!if u don't know, Slingo is Second Life BINGO! kind of game, and its free!! so we played abit

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting

but we didn't win any money... oh well, better luck next time
after slingo we went on a balloon tour!

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting

look at the size of that balloon man...

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting

after that we went to Second Life Fever to dance our hearts out! it was fun but the animation looked abit weird for some

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting

then we are suppose to find a member of the second life greeters club to ask tips on SL what good to do not good to do and so on. but sadly, after finding one for so many days, we couldn''t find greeting members, so we went around asking mentors and other greeters that question, and they politely answer, thus, we can do this part
first we asked a mentor

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting

then we asked another greeter member whose name is hidden probably by a script or something

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting

after thats done, we did the teleportation trail!!

this is the starting pointPhotobucket - Video and Image Hosting

then the location we were suppose to go

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting

and we got this freebie!!Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting

cute aren;t we, next stop is the house of that irratating sponge!!

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting

and a crab just outside his house
Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting

and our final stop!

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting

then we went to even the forth stop, ElvenMyst, but couldn;t find the next treasure T_T but we'll find it soon!

that therefore marks the end of our treasure hunt! its was a fun and long trip, but was worth it to learn how to make full use of second life. from what we can see, Second life can serve as both a entertaining game for kids and adults likewise, yet it can get dull and boring if one doesn't understand the game. Moreover, the money that one can earn in second life can be exchanged with real money, which is a plus for hardcore gamers who will spent their time playing the game.
As for the maturity level, they actually have another similar game called teen life or something, which focus more on kids so that any adultish genre will be excluded . Maturity in the game is high but i believe that whoeven who plays the game should be responsible enough for adult stuff. Seeing the huge amount of people in second life, i believe that people can make friends easily over the net and even introvert nerds can find a life within the game.
